
Job Title: FCY Teller (Foreign Currency Teller)
Department: Front Office
Reports To: Head Cashier
Location: JBR - Dubai
Work Schedule: 6 days/week, 10 hours/day (as per shift schedule)
Job Purpose:
The FCY Teller is responsible for buying and handling foreign currencies (cash) from walk-in customers in a fast-paced exchange environment. The role requires strict adherence to regulatory standards, cash-handling procedures, and internal policies to ensure secure and efficient transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Currency Exchange Operations
- Buy various foreign currencies from customers in accordance with company policies and market rates.
- Accurately count, verify, and authenticate foreign currency notes using detection tools and procedures.
- Ensure the correct rates are applied based on daily approved rates from the Head Cashier or Management.
2. Cash Handling & Accuracy
- Maintain strict cash accuracy during all buy-side transactions.
- Immediately report any cash shortages or overages to the Head Cashier.
- Organize and secure currency in accordance with vault and drawer protocols.
3. Compliance & AML/KYC Requirements
- Verify the identity of customers as per KYC guidelines before processing high-value transactions.
- Flag and escalate suspicious transactions to the Compliance Department or Head Cashier.
- Ensure all transactions are recorded properly on the system in compliance with CBUAE and company regulations.
4. Customer Service
- Greet customers courteously and handle transactions professionally and efficiently.
- Address customer inquiries related to currency exchange services.
- Ensure customer privacy and data confidentiality.
5. System Entry & Documentation
- Accurately input all transaction data in the Remitex or equivalent system.
- Ensure all documentation related to FCY purchases is properly scanned, recorded, and filed.
- Balance and reconcile daily transactions with physical cash before end-of-shift handover.
