Job Description
Manage regional payroll operations for various APAC countries, ensuring timely and accurate processing of end-to-end payroll cycles. While the primary focus is on India payroll, this role also covers Singapore, ANZ, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines.
This position involves interacting with personnel at various levels both inside and outside the company. These interactions require strong interpersonal skills, judgment, tact, and diplomacy when troubleshooting problems and communicating status with internal and external customers.
Efficiency in this role demands a thorough understanding of relevant payroll processes, systems, policies, and procedures. Accuracy is crucial in performing all functions of this position. Strong initiative and organizational skills are essential to ensure the timely completion of a large volume of work within short timelines.
This position reports to the Payroll Manager based in India.
Essential Functions:
- Manage day-to-day payroll operations for multiple APAC countries.
- Ensure completeness and timeliness of payroll submissions and approvals.
- Develop, manage, and supervise payroll SLAs/KPIs.
- Lead the team to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Coach, train, and develop team members.
- Prepare and present reports to key stakeholders as needed.
- Guide the team in analyzing complex payroll calculations and implementing compliant solutions.
- Resolve critical issues with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Liaise with vendors to develop solutions when necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date standard operating models, including payroll reports, SOPs, checklists, calendars, and records.
- Assist in audit operations and implement recommendations.
- Develop controls and procedures to ensure policy compliance.
- Interpret and apply statutory rules, compliance regulations, and corporate policies to ensure accurate pay.
- Stay updated with payroll regulatory changes, review and analyze tax and legal regulations, identify impacts, and update payroll processes.
- Provide back-up support to team members as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- 8-10 years of proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
- 2-3 years of experience in a payroll supervisory role.
- Experience managing teams in a fast-paced, cross-functional, and constantly evolving environment while handling multiple priorities.
- Excellent organizational, planning, time management, and analytical skills.
- Strong team-building, interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse workforce.
- Solid understanding of payroll and relevant tax laws and legislation, including statutory requirements in various APAC countries.
- Knowledge of ADP, Workday systems, and ServiceNow ticketing system is an added advantage.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels, including customers, vendors, employees, line managers, HRBP, and the HR Operation Team.
