Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert consultation and care to patients with neurological disorders, including but not limited to stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, neurodegenerative conditions, and headaches.
- Perform comprehensive neurological assessments, including patient history, physical examinations, diagnostic tests, and interpretation of results.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication, therapy, and referrals to other specialists if required.
- Provide clinical leadership and support to medical teams, including junior doctors and allied health professionals.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in neurology through continuous education, research, and collaboration with academic institutions.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and patient rounds.
- Manage neurological emergencies, ensuring the timely and accurate diagnosis and intervention for acute conditions such as strokes or seizures.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and provide education on best practices in neurology.
- Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines, protocols, and policies.
- Lead or collaborate in research activities aimed at improving patient care and advancing the field of neurology.
- Ensure compliance with all medical regulations, ethical standards, and hospital policies.
- Engage in patient education, providing clear explanations about diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosis.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and Board Certification in Neurology.
- Proven experience as a Consultant Neurologist or in a senior neurological role.
- Current and valid medical license to practice in the UAE.
- Strong understanding of neurological conditions and evidence-based practices.
- Excellent diagnostic skills and the ability to manage complex cases.
- Experience in the use of neuroimaging tools, EEG, EMG, and other diagnostic methods.
- Leadership and mentoring experience, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts to patients and families.
