Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive care to newborns requiring intensive medical attention, including premature infants and those with birth defects or severe illness.
  • Manage and supervise the operations of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), ensuring high standards of clinical care.
  • Perform diagnostic tests, interpret results, and design individualized treatment plans.
  • Work closely with obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals.
  • Provide parental guidance and support, including counseling on neonatal conditions, prognosis, and ongoing care needs.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to DOH regulations and hospital policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay up-to-date on best practices in neonatology.
  • On-call duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • DOH License as a Neonatology Specialist (Mandatory)
  • Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) and relevant specialization in Neonatology
  • Minimum [5] years of clinical experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
  • Board certification in Neonatology (if applicable)
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Arabic language proficiency preferred
