Job Summary
Laboratory Technologists have a critical role in the successful execution and implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) in all phases of the pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical laboratory processes. Preparing the samples for examination, using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation, performing numerous complicated tests simultaneously, and accurately interpreting the results are all part of a medical technologist’s job.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviews minutes of monthly meetings, policy reviews to present to team leader and laboratory manager to be filed in the laboratory for documentation, oversees the whole process and assumes direct responsibility for matters related to the Core Laboratory. Be open and transparent in communicating information to your groups and communicate staff achievements and changes to stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Work closely with the Laboratory Manager within the section to develop a vision and implement a strategy. Demonstrate cross-functional team leadership. Checking of daily and per shift endorsement and follows up pending endorsements, attendance checking ensuring smooth day to day operations of the section, monitors and supervises the performance of Laboratory Technologists ensuring the extraction process is accurate, precise and performed promptly in accordance to the agreed turnaround time, assists laboratory staff to referred difficulties.
• Monitors daily controls are run and reported, proper waste segregation, the requisition for the adequacy of stocks and supplies. Ensures the proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment. Reports monthly KPI and performance improvement plan for staff. Serve and protect the company’s policy by adhering to professional and legal standards as per UAE law.
• Perform quality control analysis and proficiency testing according to defined procedures.
• Perform, without deviation, all analyses and result reporting according to the associated SOPs.
• Ensure that all regulatory agency guidelines are met including those mandated by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD).

Qualifications and Skills

• 3 years’ experience in a similar role, this role requires highly relevant experience in a specific area of working in a healthcare.
• Bachelors in Medical Laboratory Technologist/Sciences.
• Experience in preparing daily reports, and shifts.
• In-depth knowledge about laboratory procedures and understands importance of maintaining a clean workspace by following all lab regulations for health and safety.
• Knowledge about the whole Amplification process.
• Language Preference-English/Arabic is a plus.
• Pathology experience is a must.
