Job Summary:


Cat Parts Aftermarket manages inventory and service on 800,000 different parts. This position provides backend support for various facilities/ warehouses in US, Europe, and Asia Pacific locations. The functions include the below mentioned activities:


What You Will Do:


  • ASN (Advanced Shipping Notice) Grief resolution for the materials lying with suppliers/contract processors.
  • Resolving the grief caused due to discrepancy between invoice and the physical receipts.
  • The incumbent reports to the Inventory Manager and will be assigned a specific process to work upon.
  • Specific processes may include fixing ASN errors, resolving Receipt Match discrepancies and receiving guidance from TL, SME, or Manager.
  • In performing his/her duties, frequent contact may be made with members of the Accounts Payable and other departments.
  • Represent the service parts facilities, responsible for contacting suppliers on discrepancy and conformance issues.
  • Meet required levels of customer service / turnaround time, agreed upon with the parts facilities.
  • Analyzing various data, generating reports & metrics.
  • Troubleshoot EDI/technical issues related to material receipt with system & technical teams.
  • Actively participate in all technical or functional discussions to establish an effective RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) to prevent the re-occurrence.
  • Apart from core responsibilities, be flexible to support Inventory control processes whenever required.

Additional Info:


  • Degree or equivalent experience desired
  • Experience in Supply Chain Management or Logistics or Warehousing functions.
  • Knowledge of ASN, EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), and Supplier collaboration to ensure receiving efficiency for the facilities.
  • Knowledge of material receipts and dispositions.
  • End user knowledge and exposure in SAP, IBM Mainframe, and/or any ERP.
  • Experience with statistical analysis using MS Excel (Pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).
  • Demonstrating basic Project Management skills.
  • Effective oral and written communications skills required to collaborate with many teams to achieve project deliverables.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task various responsibilities.
  • Strong initiative and ability to learn quickly is desired.
  • Should have good team skills and positivity for working in a cooperative and diverse team environment.
  • Willingness to work in US/UK/Australia timings.

Logistics Management: Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.


Level Basic Understanding:


• Explains how improvements in logistics contribute to competitive advantage in the marketplace.


• Identifies issues and considerations for inbound and outbound logistics.


• Documents internal and external informative sources or proprietary materials about logistics management


• Describes basic logistical processes and sub-processes.


Supply Chain Management: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.


Level Working Knowledge:


• Discusses considerations for integrating partner and supplier transactions.


• Recognizes software systems or components used to manage supply chain.


• Summarizes supply chain considerations for different types of products or components.


• Participates in supply chain analysis and uses it to spot trends and improvement opportunities.


• Works with a specific part of supply chain management process.


Data Gathering and Reporting: Knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.


Level Working Knowledge:


• Detects and summarizes patterns in data and findings by producing simple reports.


• Assesses common problems and obstacles surrounding data-gathering.


• Customizes data fields to meet clients' needs.


• Interprets and explains results of a data-gathering initiative.


• Participates in projects to gather data for needs analysis


Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviours.


Level Working Knowledge:


• Delivers helpful feedback that focuses on behaviours without offending the recipient.


• Listens to feedback without defensiveness and uses it for own communication effectiveness.


• Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work.


• Avoids technical jargon when inappropriate.


• Looks for and considers non-verbal cues from individuals and groups.


Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.


Level Working Knowledge:


• Approaches a situation or problem by defining the problem or issue and determining its significance.


• Makes a systematic comparison of two or more alternative solutions.


• Uses flow charts, Pareto charts, fish diagrams, etc. to disclose meaningful data patterns.


• Identifies the major forces, events and people impacting and impacted by the situation at hand.


• Uses logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of the data and arrive at conclusions.
