We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our team. In this role, you will lead advanced analytics and machine learning projects, transforming data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and business stakeholders to solve complex problems and optimize performance across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of machine learning models and algorithms for prediction, classification, and optimization.
• Drive end-to-end data science projects from data exploration, feature engineering, model building, evaluation, and deployment.
• Collaborate with data engineers to build robust data pipelines and ensure data quality and consistency.
• Translate complex data into business insights through dashboards, reports, and storytelling.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior data scientists and analysts.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
• Continuously explore and evaluate new tools, techniques, and frameworks to improve data science capabilities.
• Contribute to the development of best practices, coding standards, and model governance frameworks.

Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field (Ph.D. is a plus).
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in Data Science and Machine Learning.
• Statistical modelling and building predictive models (e.g., regression, classification, time-series forecasting, anomaly detection).
• Handling large datasets and real-time data, with experience in integrating sensor data into models for actionable insights.
• Strong programming skills in Python for data analysis and SQL for querying and managing databases.
• Hands-on experience with Big Data tools like Apache Spark and Hadoop, enabling scalable data processing for large datasets.
• Expertise in data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI to communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Solid understanding of advanced statistical methods, including regression analysis, Bayesian Inference, and hypothesis testing.
• Minimum of (3) year’s relevant proven experiences in the Oil and Gas industry, focusing on production optimization, predictive maintenance, and resource forecasting. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Willing to work in hybrid mode (from Beirut Office and from Oman HQ)
