Responsibilities

3.1 Provides comprehensive and diligent urological care to patients (in OPD & IP), including pre- and post-operative
care and such urological procedures as are within incumbent’s competence.
3.2 Assumes after-hours responsibility for the care of surgical cases and makes daily rounds for those hospitalized.
3.3 Refers to specialists or consults with them on those cases which are beyond his skill or experience.
3.4 Adheres to the by laws and Rules and regulations of the Medical Department and assures that work performed
is in keeping with the established standards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals.
3.5 Consults with the anesthetist on the choice of anesthesia to be used.
3.6 Maintains complete and accurate records of all assigned cases.
3.7 Participates in and contributes to in-service activities such as lectures, conferences and rounds.
3.8 Supports Continuous Quality Improvement.
3.9 Maintains confidentiality regarding patient information and regarding administrative matters of a confidential
nature.
3.10 Evidences dependability in carrying out the commitments and obligations of the position.
3.11 Demonstrates the ability to listen to others in promoting effective communication.
3.12 Develops thorough understanding of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates respect for
them.
3.13 Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Urologist.

3.14 Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital
management to comply those requirements
3.15 Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities
3.16 Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures
3.17 Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk
assessments, incident reports
3.18 Comply with Waste management procedures and policies
3.19 Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs
3.20 Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems

Qualifications

4.1 Graduation from an approved medical school plus internship.
4.2 Three years residency in Urology-culminating in procuring a Post-Graduate Master’s degree and/or equivalent
Fellowships approved by HAAD.
4.3 Five or more year’s exclusive practice of Urology since certification.
4.4 Must have HAAD License to practice.
4.5 English is required to prepare documentation and it is used as the common language to communicate with
different nationalities. Basic knowledge of medical Arabic desirable.
4.6 Must have a thorough knowledge of medical ethics.
